Student Employee, Peer Tutor

Student Employee, Peer Tutor: Tutor students using individual and small group sessions in subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, English, and Math. Represent Joliet Junior College and uphold its core values.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completed one semester of college-level courses with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Received an A or B in the subject area to be tutored
• Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at JJC
• Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week
• TLC Manager approval
• One faculty reference
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with students/faculty
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and maintain confidentiality
• Patience, problem-solving abilities, and willingness to accept responsibility
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with college and community members
