Job Description
As a Scientist II Bioreactor Process Development, you will independently prepare and run bench-scale bioreactors, perform mammalian cell culture work, and design, execute, and analyze statistically designed experiments. You will be responsible for equipment calibrations, media preparations, and communicating experimental plans and data to cross-functional teams and clients. You will also train and mentor junior staff and interns, and perform regular bench-scale bioreactor operations tasks.
Requirements
- Master’s in engineering, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field with 5+ years of experience or Ph.D. in Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field
- Proficiency in both verbal and written English
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to stay organized and relaxed in complex situations
- Strong writing skills, comfortable communicating with project managers and subject matter experts
- Enthusiastic problem-solver, self-motivated, able to make and follow through on goals
- Experience with Microsoft Office apps (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and statistical software (JMP, MATLAB, etc)
- Experience with aseptic technique and small-scale cell culture
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally respond in person to alarms during off-hours
