17758 - Head of Information Assurance, Analysis Directorate, Ministry of Justice

This vacancy is for a Head of Information Assurance role within the Analysis Directorate of the Ministry of Justice. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring good data protection and information assurance practices are followed, and will have experience of identifying and advising on data protection risk. The role involves leading a team of FOI practitioners, responding to FOIA requests, and collaborating with other teams to improve the FOIA service. The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018, and experience of developing and leading data protection or information assurance strategy in government or public sector.

Requirements

• Good working knowledge and understanding of both the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018
• Significant work experience of identifying, and advising on data protection risk
• Proven track record in developing and leading data protection or information assurance strategy in government or public sector
• Experience of working in a data or research function or in a data driven environment
• Experience of leading or managing a team
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to explain data protection and information assurance concepts to staff and stakeholders
