Job Description
Spanish Linguist performs real-time transcriptions of sensitive material from Spanish to English; collects, analyzes, and decodes colloquialisms and slang terms; extracts pertinent information and communicates to law enforcement. Transcribes source documents and recordings from storage media. Works day and/or night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and three years' experience in a professional setting
- Associate degree and five years' experience in a professional setting
- High School Diploma and seven years' experience
- Minimum of one year of transcription experience in Spanish
- Knowledge of source language colloquial terms and expressions
- Knowledgeable in SMS language, social media, and Webchat
- Excellent verbal and written skills in Spanish, including correct and accurate grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Must type 45 words per minute
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Security Clearance
