Part-Time English Instructor

The Kaplan English Instructor is responsible for teaching English classes to international students, maintaining a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning, and advising students on their academic performance and goals. Instructors should help students achieve their academic goals while maximizing student satisfaction with KI classes.

Requirements

• Teach classes using the KI curriculum as assigned by the Academic Manager.
• Maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
• Effectively counsel and advise students regarding their academic performance and goals.
• Accept and incorporate feedback on classroom performance.
• Prepare lesson plans and submit to the Academic Manager upon request.
• Accurately record attendance and submit rosters to the Academic Manager.
• Accurately record student performance and submit Individual Student Reports (ISRs) to the Academic Manager.
• Attend instructor’s meetings and in-house workshops.
• Work to incorporate new teaching technology into lessons.
• Effectively communicate with school administrative staff.
• Become familiar with and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Complete other job duties as assigned.

Benefits

• Paid at least $15 per hour or $31,200 per year for full-time positions
