Senior Database Administrator

Kaseware is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join its Engineering organization. The role involves designing, tuning, and operating databases for critical investigative and operational work, primarily using PostgreSQL and Metabase. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in database administration, expert-level PostgreSQL skills, and experience with Azure Database for PostgreSQL. The role is hybrid, with employees expected to work 3 days in-office and 2 days at home.

Requirements

• Own day-to-day administration of Kaseware's PostgreSQL and Metabase deployments
• Lead query and database performance tuning
• Partner with the Data team to optimize Metabase performance
• Provide schema design review, data modeling guidance, and migration support
• Design and maintain backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies
• Implement and operate database monitoring, alerting, and observability
• Establish and document database standards, runbooks, and best practices
• Contribute new ideas and improvements to the Kaseware data architecture
