KBR is seeking a Medium Voltage Electrician to support the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in Baghdad, Iraq. The Electrician will be responsible for operation and maintenance of electric power generation and distribution equipment, reporting to the Power Plant Supervisor. Must have 5+ years of MV electrical experience and a valid State Journeyman Electrician License or Journeyman Certificate.
Requirements
- Must be able to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a Secret Security clearance and maintain it for the duration of employment.
- Requires experience working in confined spaces.
- Must have experience working with Ethyl Propylene Rubber (EPR), cross-linked polyethylene (XLP), and multi-conductor cables.
- Must have experience working with 600 Amp bolted connections; 200-amp load-break terminations and heat shrink & cold shrink applications.
- Must have proficiency with the MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Requires excellent English communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to facilitate and disseminate information.
- Requires knowledge of applicable codes and accepted trade practices.
- Knowledge and experience regarding occupational hazards of the electrical trade, related safety precautions and considerable skill required for the installation, maintenance and repair of MV electrical systems and equipment is required.
- Must be able to test and maintain digital relays and medium voltage vacuum contacts.
- Must be able to terminate, troubleshoot, test, & splice fiber optic cable in both indoor & outdoor environments.
- Requires good organizational skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
- Must have cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
- Must be able to crouch, bend, reach and crawl in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Must be willing to work in austere conditions.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.
