The manufacturing engineer is responsible for establishing and improving manufacturing methods, providing support to manufacturing departments, and improving quality and reducing costs in manufacturing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering (or similar areas of study)
- 2 years in a related field
- Experience using SolidWorks and CAD programs
- Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience or manufacturing technician
- Knowledge of SolidWorks
- Knowledge of machining and the machining industry
- Basic understanding of quality principles and inspection techniques
- Knowledge of CAD and CAM systems
- Knowledge of personal computers
- Creative thinking skills
- Ability to have attention to detail
- Ability to communicate well to other members of the team
- Ability to work with independently and with other members of the team
- Knowledge of hand and power tools
- Ability to follow work instructions accurately
- Ability to do accurate work at a rapid pace
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to proficiently read and write in English
- Ability to follow all safety rules
- Knowledge of machine operations on an intermediate level
- Ability to read and understand a blueprint, tolerance, and draft symbols
- Ability to write programs
- Ability to do machining problem solving
- Ability to solve tooling issues
