Job Description
Supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Provides leadership and direct supervision of a group of youth in a seasonal outdoor day camp setting. Provides positive engagement with youth in a safe, nurturing environment.
Requirements
- At least 16 years of age
- Pass a background check and finger printing
- Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: outdoor living/education, music, dramatic arts, aquatics, sports/PE/recreational games, creative arts, etc.
- Effective verbal communication skills
- CPR/First Aid/AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training
- Completed health form prior to start date
- Earlier experience working with youth, preferably in a day camp setting, for 2 or more years is preferred
- Behavioral management experience within a school, childcare, camp or parenthood
- School credits or Certificates in Career and Technical Education program specifically Early Childhood Education is preferred
