Job Description
KIPP SoCal Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Assistant to provide support to students with special needs and implement comprehensive positive behavioral support plans. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and 1-year experience working with students with special needs.
Requirements
- Provide support to students with special needs
- Implement comprehensive positive behavioral support plans and effective behavior management strategies
- Adapt classroom activities, assignments, and/or materials under the direction of the teacher
- Supervise students throughout the school day
- Assist teacher in classroom instruction and behavior support
- Implement behavior support plan
- Assist in managing the behavior of students and crisis intervention, including restraint
- Maintain confidentiality of students and families
- Communicate effectively in oral and written form
