Criminal Legal Assistant

The U.S. Attorney’s Office, Northern District of Georgia (USAO NDGA), is seeking a Criminal Legal Assistant to provide legal, litigation, and administrative support for active cases and daily office operations. Responsibilities include supporting Assistant United States Attorneys with day-to-day criminal litigation, preparing legal documents, conducting research, and providing trial and courtroom support. The position requires proficiency in Automated Litigation Support software applications, Microsoft Office applications, and strong legal document formatting, proofreading, and cite-checking skills.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Automated Litigation Support software applications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to organize, manage, and retrieve legal documents, discovery, evidence, and case materials
• Ability to make responsible decisions on short notice and adapt to unexpected developments
• Strong legal document formatting, proofreading, and cite-checking skills
• Physically located within the general geographic commuting radius of the USAO NDGA office
• Valid driver’s license
• Demonstrated experience performing similar legal administrative, litigation support, and criminal case support duties
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• A four-year undergraduate degree preferred
• Additional legal training, paralegal education, or related coursework preferred
