The Lead Shop Technician is responsible for overseeing and directing the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of natural gas compression equipment, with a focus on optimizing team performance and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Directs, coordinates and leads job activities in a manner consistent with Kodiak’s procedures/protocols, goals and objectives.
- Acts as a leader in the shop providing guidance and support to other shop technicians.
- Coordinate and manage the daily and weekly schedules for shop technicians.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, parts used, and time spent on each task.
- Enforce and uphold safety procedures and standards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in safety training and meetings.
- Oversee and perform advanced-level routine maintenance and repairs on natural gas compression equipment, including compressors, engines, and related systems.
- Work closely with other shop technicians and Shop Manager to address equipment issues and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks are performed to the highest quality standards and in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Ability to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Provide detailed reports on equipment status, project progress, and team performance to the Shop Manager.
- May backfill Shop Manager, as necessary.
