Requirements
- Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items
- Check product quality to ensure freshness
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department
- Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated
- Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions
- Practice preventive maintenance and notify appropriate department or store manager
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents
- Ability to work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
- Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
