Job Description
The Structural Engineer is responsible for assisting with various structural projects in rural and urban Alaska, using computer-aided design technology and structural analysis tools to prepare reports, designs, and drawings.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- PE required, working towards SE
- Minimum three (3) years of work experience as a Structural Engineer.
- Experience in project management is preferred.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials and legal regulations.
- Sound understanding of physics and mathematics.
- Ability to liaise with professionals from other disciplines.
- Three-dimensional conceptual skills.
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines on multiple projects at the same time.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willing to travel to remote locations averaging once every three months.
- Excellent communication and IT skills.
- A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy.
