Job Description
This Thermal Spray Technician I (SHIP) position focuses on supporting field operations involving the application of thermal spray coatings to naval vessels, including steel decks and structures. The role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a dynamic, travel-based environment, requiring mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety. Responsibilities include application of coatings, surface preparation, and compliance with safety standards.
Requirements
- Ability to learn thermal spray operations (Wire Arc, APS, Flame Spray, HVOF)
- Experience working with metals, especially in a machine shop or industrial setting (preferred)
- Attention to detail and high quality in all tasks
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with thermal spray equipment
- Reliability to consistently maintain good attendance and punctuality
- Good communication skills
- Adaptability to change in workload and responsibilities
- Commitment to safety
- Valid Driver’s License
- Pass a pre-employment criminal background check, drug-screen, eye exam, hearing exam and respirator test (health screenings are often required)
- Ability to pass required physical exams.
- Must be a 'US Person'.
