Manager, Lab Equipment and Automation Support Engineering

Labcorp is seeking a Manager, Lab Equipment and Automation Support Engineering to join its Invitae genetics lab in San Francisco, CA. The role will lead a team of Production Support Engineers, drive continuous process improvement, and oversee hiring and mentoring of staff.

Requirements

• Lead, train, mentor and support a team of Production Support Engineers
• Drive continuous process improvement programs
• Oversee hiring, coaching, and mentoring of staff
• Maintain oversight for quality of work performed and appropriate documentation
• Ensure appropriate hand-off communication and work completion between shifts
• Ensure all standard operating procedures (SOPs) are current and revised when necessary
• Support troubleshooting of down systems when an immediate resolution is not available
• Manage team schedules to ensure sufficient staffing
• Communicate to the Clinical Production Laboratory team the status of production line equipment and any other essential or pertinent information
• Aid in the transfer of new technologies or changes to existing technologies into the production
• Ensure all training and competencies are completed on time for all staff
• Monitor and review with the staff, key performance indicators/dashboards and assess for continuous improvement
