Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a GIS Specialist to join their team. The GIS Specialist will support the creation, maintenance, and analysis of geospatial data for internal and client projects. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation in GIS, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Requirements
- Produce and update maps using standard cartographic principles and GIS tools
- Compile, review, and load spatial and tabular data for project use
- Digitize geospatial data while following established QA/QC procedures
- Upload and manage data within company SDE databases
- Leverage multiple software tools to process and analyze data
- Create alignment sheets using BSD Lightning (or similar software)
- Troubleshoot and resolve data conversion issues
- Conduct route analysis using Linear Referencing tools
- Perform basic calculations and data analysis
- Assist in managing and maintaining project databases
- Support configuration and publishing of GIS services and internal web applications
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Complete assigned tasks within established timelines
- Collaborate with GIS team members to expand technical capabilities and best practices
- Provide guidance and mentorship to entry-level technicians
