NDE Guided Wave Technician

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a NDE Guided Wave Technician to join our team. The NDE Advanced UT/Guided Wave technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and safety of pipelines and related infrastructure through the application of advanced ultrasonic testing (UT) techniques, specifically Guided Wave Testing (GWT).

Requirements

• NDE Level II Certification: Particularly in Guided Wave UT (often with specific endorsements like GUL Level 2 ‘XB’).
• Experience with specific equipment and software: Familiarity with guided wave systems like GUL Wavemaker and WavePro Software is often preferred or required.
• Understanding of NDT methods and procedures: Possessing a strong technical background in NDT principles and applications.
• Ability to interpret inspection results: Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze data and assess the integrity of structures.
• Experience in report writing: Creating clear and comprehensive documentation of inspection findings.
• Technical background in advanced ultrasonic methods: Experience in techniques like Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) and Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT) Corrosion Mapping is beneficial.
• Ability to travel: Willingness to work in various locations
• Strong communication skills: Effectively interacting with clients, colleagues, and management.
• Problem-solving abilities: Troubleshooting technical issues and finding solutions.
• Adherence to safety protocols: Ensuring all work is conducted safely and according to regulations.
