Survey Party Chief

The Survey Party Chief coordinates, directs, and oversees survey crews to ensure field surveys are executed safely, accurately, and efficiently. This role manages daily field operations, supervises Survey Technicians, and ensures delivery is completed within project timelines, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.

Requirements

• Leads and oversees field survey operations, ensuring accurate data collection using GPS, Total Stations, levels, laser scanners, UAVs/drones, and data collectors.
• Interprets, communicates, and executes project requirements for boundary, ALTA, topographic, construction, and other survey types.
• Develops and implements field plans to complete projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Ensures crew compliance with safety protocols, proper equipment use, vehicle operation, and public safety requirements.
• Supervises, mentors, and trains Survey Technicians, providing clear task assignments and technical guidance.
• Conducts field checks, maintains accurate field notes, sketches, photographs, and daily logs to document conditions and findings.
• Troubleshoots and resolves equipment issues promptly; oversees regular maintenance and calibration of survey instruments.
• Coordinates with Fleet Management to ensure vehicles are stocked, maintained, and in safe working conditions.
