Job Description
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking a Mechanical Properties Technologist to support the High Explosives Applications Facility (HEAF) in Livermore, CA. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects related to vibration and shock-testing, general environmental testing, modal analysis, health monitoring, aging studies, data acquisition, load testing, general instrumentation, and measurement diagnostics.
Requirements
- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Proficient in basic mathematics and geometrical concepts
- Intermediate knowledge of general material properties commonly used for manufacturing parts and tooling
- Familiarity with general machine shop equipment and precision measurement equipment
- Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work constructively in a multidisciplinary team environment
