The successful candidate will develop cost models for automotive components and assist in sourcing negotiations. Requirements include 3+ years of cost modeling experience and a bachelor's degree. The role involves analyzing production steps and costs, understanding activity-based costing principles, and communicating with a global team. A high level of independent judgment and creativity is required. Bonus points for engineering or MBA background.
Requirements
- 3+ years of cost modeling, cost engineering and/or purchasing experience with a working knowledge of activity-based costing principles
- Bachelor's degree required
- Understanding of activity-based costing principles in manufacturing
- Ability to analyze production steps and costs in supplier manufacturing facilities
- Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes such as stamping, injection molding, wiring, excrusions, and clips
- Ability to work in a cross functional environment including purchasing, engineering, finance, and sales
- Ability to explain gaps between should costs and supplier pricing based on factual data
- High level of independent judgment, initiative, creativity, and managing multiple projects
- Problem solving and analytical thinking

- Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills required to communicate with a global team in a timely manner
