Senior Systems Engineer

The Defense Sector at Leidos is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support an exciting Air Force Life Cycle Management Center program. This role involves supporting the delivery of comprehensive IT and support services to ensure mission success while adhering to DoD standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Ability to travel to support customer sites and participate in hardware installation and configuration.
• Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual Linux and Windows servers.
• Oversee and perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Identify and resolve technical issues that arise within a complex system or network infrastructure.
• Manage system patches, upgrades, and security hardening in compliance with DoD policies.
• Provide support for system backups, disaster recovery, and data integrity.
• Assist in managing system access, user accounts, and security configurations.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to support software deployments and integration.
• Ensure system documentation is maintained and up to date.
• Participate in incident response and resolve issues related to system performance, security, and availability.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers and administrators, fostering knowledge sharing and professional growth within the team.
• Coordinate with Government network owners to understand requirements for new locations.
