Leonardo is seeking an Expert/ess in Development and Qualification of Control Laws to work on advanced control types, aeromechanical analysis, and project architectural and detailed design of Control Laws for fixed-wing aircraft. The role requires at least 5 years of experience in the development/qualification of Control Laws or Autopilots for fixed-wing aircraft.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, aeromechanics and systems direction.
- At least 5 years of experience gained in the development/qualification of Control Laws or Autopilots for fixed-wing aircraft, preferably in the military field.
- Knowledge of Flight Mechanics and aspects of Stability & Control
- Knowledge of the relevant military regulations for Control Laws/Autopilots/Flight Quality for fixed-wing aircraft
- Knowledge and direct experience in the project of Control Laws for fixed-wing aircraft
- Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow simulation environments and C programming language
- Knowledge and direct experience of the qualification processes of Control Laws, including the management of pilot-in-the-loop tests
- Ability to design and detail Control Laws
- Ability to model and simulate
- Knowledge of the specific topics of unmanned fixed-wing aircraft, with particular interest in autonomy aspects
- Knowledge of advanced control techniques applied to the fixed-wing aeronautical sector
- Excellent spoken and written English (C1)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of the Python language
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithms
- Experience in requirement management and related tools (e.g. DOORS)
- Experience gained in flight test data analysis.
