Medecins Sans Frontieres is seeking an Assistant to the Head of Mission to support the country management team in Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have experience in management, public health, and international policy, with strong communication and negotiation skills.
Requirements
- Support the Head of Mission and country management team in the guidance of the Nigerian mission
- Assist in the elaboration and maintenance of an active network of content and health-related contacts
- Assist in the elaboration of Nigeria country policy, projects plans, advocacy strategy and other strategic documents
- Act as a liaison with federal and state MOH and other officials
- Experience/understanding of public health programs and epidemic response
- Experience in management ideally in large and/or complex structures
- Knowledge and experience in international policy and context analysis
- Experience in dealing with national authorities, national and international NGO's UN bodies
- Strong negotiating and problem solving skill, patience, diplomacy and resilience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently
- Flexibility and ability to work on multiple tasks with shifting priorities
