The Baptist Hospice volunteer plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of care delivered to patients and families, supporting the agency's goals in quality care. This is a volunteer position with no pay expectation, focused on patient/family support through various activities like assisting with care plans, documenting encounters, and community outreach. The role involves accurate documentation, communication of patient status, and adherence to confidentiality protocols.

Requirements

• Provides assistance to the hospice program and/or patient/family in accordance with designated activities.
• Accurately documents services provided as trained and instructed by the hospice agency.
• Maintains strict patient confidentiality.
• Attends at least four (4) in-services per year.
• Participates in community outreach projects for the agency.
• Bereavement Volunteer: knowledge of the death and dying process.
