We are seeking a Principal/Executive Underwriter, VP to join our growing team. This person will be responsible for underwriting and profitable growth of a portfolio of commercial property insurance in the Quebec region. The insurance products will include primarily multi-peril insurance, general liability insurance, additional insurance, automobile insurance, and property insurance.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in underwriting commercial property insurance
• Experience in construction insurance underwriting is an asset
• Post-secondary education, having a degree or holding a relevant title in insurance is an asset
• Advanced skills in French and English communication
• Understanding of damage insurance policy language and its impact on different types of claims
• Autonomous and proven analytical skills, solution-focused attitude to promote profitable growth
• Demonstrate critical judgment and a growth-minded mindset, considerately weighing multiple perspectives in decision-making and respecting differences
• Able to give and receive respectful constructive feedback
• Effectively contribute to internal and external meetings by demonstrating professionalism and clarity in communications
• Effectively manage change and adapt well to new systems and processes
