Associate Director, AI

The Associate Director, AI role is responsible for designing and deploying advanced Machine Learning and AI solutions for processing, analysis, and interpretation of transcriptomics data. The role requires collaboration with scientists across the company to build platforms that underpin their research, and working with AI research teams in China, India, and Europe to evaluate available solutions.

Requirements

• PhD in mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics, statistics, computational sciences, or a related field
• Proven experience in applying AI and machine learning to solve problems in a commercial context
• Demonstrated experience in implementing machine learning/AI workflows to automate bioinformatics analysis pipelines
• Familiarity with modern foundation models for biological data
• Advanced skills in programming languages such as Python
• Experience with AI libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Strong knowledge of software development and machine learning deployment principles
• Demonstratable experience working with AWS or a similar cloud environment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong leadership and project management skills
