Amgen is establishing a Computational Biology team at AIN Hyderabad to scale translational and reverse translational analysis across clinical programs in Oncology, Inflammation, Rare Disease, Cardiovascular & Metabolic, and Obesity & Related Diseases. The Associate Director for Computational Biology will be accountable for building the organization, hiring and developing talent, and delivering scientific and technical leadership across translational analytics, and AI-enabled platform capabilities while operating effectively in a global, highly matrixed environment.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (PhD strongly preferred; MS with substantial experience considered) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
- 16+ years (or equivalent) of progressive experience in industry (biopharma/biotech/healthcare) delivering translational bioinformatics or computational biology in the context of drug development.
- 7+ years of people leadership experience, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and building multi-disciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated experience supporting clinical trial translational analytics (biomarkers, patient stratification, multi-omics integration, imaging/derived phenotypes, or related).
- Proven track record delivering in a highly matrixed global organization with significant time-zone separation.
- Superior written and verbal communication in English, including executive-ready materials and scientific storytelling.
