Scientist I, Protein Biology

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a Scientist I, Protein Biology to join the Antibody Team. The team is involved in engineering and development of antibodies, with a focus on reagent quality and specificity. Key responsibilities include designing and executing protein and molecular biology assays, troubleshooting technical challenges, and communicating results clearly. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant life sciences discipline and experience in molecular biology, bioinformatics, and protein purification.

Requirements

• PhD in a relevant life sciences discipline or Master's degree with 1-3 years of relevant research experience
• Experience in molecular biology, including nucleic acid extraction, PCR, and cloning
• Experience with bioinformatics, including BLAST, pairwise and multiple sequence analysis, and design and construction of expression vectors
• Knowledge and experience in protein purification, immunoassays, and cell culture techniques
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and statistical software such as Graphpad Prism
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and proficiency in deep learning models and/or knowledge of large language models (LLMs)
