Mission View Public Charter is seeking a part-time music instructor to teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and performance techniques to 9-12th grade students. The instructor will foster creativity, discipline, and a love for music in students of all ages.
Requirements
- Provide instruction on a range of music, including music theory, reading music, finger placement and technique, chord variation and progression, scales, and tuning basics.
- Teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and performance techniques.
- Prepare students for recitals, concerts, competitions, or examinations.
- Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Prepare materials for instruction.
- Be on time and prepare for class to start at the designated time.
- Provide set-up, clean-up, and any other tasks arranged in advance.
- Collaborate with the Educational Administrators to plan classes.
- Communicate regularly with educational staff and parents about student progress.
- Stay current with musical trends, teaching methods, and relevant technologies.
- Collaborate with colleagues, staff, and parents to support student success.
- Participate in departmental resource and program enhancement.
- Participate in school activities and events that facilitate student learning and achievement.
- Perform administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned.
