The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing CNC programs, supporting new product launches, and improving machining processes. The role involves designing tooling, preparing process documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. This position requires strong analytical skills, production knowledge, and experience with manufacturing simulation and ERP/MES systems.
Requirements
- Develop and improve CNC machine programs.
- Take new products from concept to production stage.
- Design and create CAD drawings for tooling, gauges, and fixtures.
- Select and specify tooling and fixtures for machining processes.
- Prepare process sheets detailing tooling and setup requirements.
- Establish cycle times and ensure processes meet part specifications.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Research and report on requirements for new production processes.
- Supervise buy-off of equipment and support equipment implementation.
- Collaborate with vendors and customers for problem resolution and tooling improvements.
- Create and maintain schedules to track process development and project progression.
- Proficient in CAD/CAM software and design tools including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Mastercam.
- Skilled in manufacturing simulation, statistical analysis, and ERP/MES systems such as Plex.
- Experienced in developing technical proposals and presenting findings to stakeholders.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Effective in cross-functional team environments and vendor/customer interactions.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
