Provide support in the design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of manufacturing operations to optimize production output, reduce costs and increase part quality. Investigate and monitor new machinery and equipment, and develop sequence of operations to troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues.
Requirements
- University degree or diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
- Licensing by a provincial or territorial association of Professional Engineers (P.Eng.) considered an asset
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a machining or manufacturing environment in an engineering role
- Previous experience within machine processes, cutting tools, fixtures, CNC and special purpose equipment
- Experience with risk analysis and failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA)
- Experience with the use of statistical analysis software and computer-assisted design, manufacturing and machining i.e. Microsoft Office including Project, SolidWorks)
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written to discuss, coordinate, integrate work with various personnel
- Ability to take precise measurements using specialized equipment and techniques
