Cutter

The Cutter will be responsible for processing upholstery production pieces by hand cutting upholstery for Living Spaces designed furniture. Will be responsible for preparing fabrics for clean cuts.

Requirements

• Prepares fabric for cutting by spreading it out in flat layers, smoothing out creases and checking the fabric for damage or defects.
• Measure and cut fabric or leather pieces by eyeing it and/or with the aid of patterns or stencils and industrial cutting tools to precise sizes and dimensions
• Use power and hand tools to cut fabric to fit the framework in furniture assembly
• Independently and accurately arrange, mark and cut fabric patterns
• Identify fabric flaws if any and maximize material yield
• Contribute to the team objectives and work efficiently in order to meet production timeframes
• Discuss complications or obstacles with manager and brainstorm solutions for increased productivity
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and keep work area in a clean and orderly manner
