LOGAN Community Resources is a non-profit organization that supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Senior Managing Speech Language Pathologist will provide evaluation and treatment of expressive and receptive language abilities, cognitive skills, and oral motor functioning, and supervise a team of staff.
Requirements
- Evaluation of persons served with other therapists or individually
- Communication of results of the assessment/screening as directed
- Determination of each client's needs with the client's family and in direct consultation with other professionals
- Collaboration with the family and provision of individual therapy to maintain or enhance speech and language abilities
- Facilitation of the growth of the client's parents as teachers
- Work directly and collaboratively with other LOGAN staff and external service providers to develop, implement, and measure therapeutic goals
- Communication with other staff, agencies, and community programs, persons served and their parents/guardians
- Keeping daily progress notes, making reports on client progress, and maintaining records of evaluations, treatments sessions, home visits, etc.
- Participation in case conferences, staff meetings, parent group meetings, and writing treatment plans and annual Individualized Family Service Plans
- Attendance at workshops and conferences to increase professional effectiveness
- Serving as a resource person for information on auditory perception, positioning, oral motor, feeding, speech and language development, and augmentative and alternative communication
- Participation and collaboration with other team members in developing appropriate outcomes and goals
- Providing reports and written programs to families and other professionals following client payor guidelines
- Maintaining all reporting and therapeutic requirements as outlines by contracted payors
- Supervising professional staff in Therapy Services, required to complete reviews, Paylocity monitoring and approvals, verification of team members services and meeting quality standards
- Providing feedback as needed, to supervisees
- Performing other duties as assigned by their supervisor
- Planning instructional activities for clients and assisting families in accessing community activities
- Furnishing all required monthly statistics on a timely basis
- Respecting the confidentiality of persons served and respecting their cultural diversity, in accordance with LOGAN policies
- Serving on a LOGAN committee addressing the agency's internal operations
- Coordinating care, and working professionally and respectfully with internal and external therapeutic providers
