Terminal Operator- Cover Handler

Terminal Operator- Cover Handler role involves mastery of safe operational capabilities of a skid steer tractor, operating in a hopper barge simultaneously with the Heyl Patterson barge Unloader, and understanding the overall barge unloading process.

Requirements

• Mastery of safe operational capabilities of a skid steer tractor
• Ability to operate the skid steer tractor safely and productively in all conditions
• Understanding of the overall barge unloading process
• Ability to recognize and identify various grains and grain by-products
• Ability to communicate the operational status of the skid steer tractor to maintenance personnel
• Knowledge of the skid steer tractor to recognize deficiencies in the equipment
• Completion of daily operations reports for each skid steer tractor used
• Active role in recognizing excessive emissions from the barge Unloader or ship loading spouts
• Recognition of hazards associated with a barge unloading operation and adherence to safe operating rules and policies
