The HSE Specialist position is an important role that coordinates and executes safety, health, and environmental programs. The position interacts with employees to ensure a culture of caring and where each employee is accountable and responsible for Safety, Health & Environmental conditions, and behaviors. The HSE Specialist ensures compliance with regulations and company policies, routinely interacting with employees in the plant on a routine basis.
Requirements
- Assist in performing PSSR'S and PHA'S on necessary applications.
- Review low level MOC's
- Periodically review contractor performance
- Conduct HSE meetings as required
- Perform HSE training of plant personnel
- Assist with the annual HSE Management System evaluation
- Assist in timely completion of Incident Investigations. Assist in effectively communicating investigation results and corrective actions
- Drive completion of open HSE action items in Corrective / Preventative Action System
- Interface with operators and leadership on HSE issues and conduct periodic employee surveys or studies to assess employee comprehension and training effectiveness
- Aid in the development and implementation of effective communication and other safety-related activities to promote employee participation in the site's HSE program
- Perform periodic assessments, document findings and track to completion
- Assist in maintaining industrial hygiene program
- Participate in project walk downs and planning
- Assist in providing guidance and direction to all plant personnel on safety questions and concerns
