Job Description
The Key Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of a client, managing the accounting team (if any), and ensuring that financial reports are timely, accurate, and comply with legal and regulatory requirements. The Key Accounting Manager prepares financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and presents them to the client. They also ensure compliance with laws and regulations related to accounting and financial reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is preferred but not required
- Non-Profit Accounting certification a plus
- At least 3-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related field, preferably as a consultant or a position where work includes directly assisting multiple clients
- Proven experience as an accounting manager or in a similar managerial and/or consulting role, preferably
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with other departments and senior management
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Ability to lead and manage a team of accounting staff
- Demonstrated expertise in QuickBooks (QBO preferred)
- Demonstrated expertise in Accounting Software (e.g. QBO, Sage etc.) or general tech knowledge (Saas, Cloud tech)
- Accounting complexity (payroll/ HR compliance, regular closing with supporting knowledge
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multi-client environment
- Understanding of laws and regulations related to accounting and financial reporting
- Willingness to continuously learn and stay up to date with industry developments
- Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and requirements
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
