This position is an intense educational experience involving on-line, classroom, and hands-on practical experiences over the course of 11 months with opportunities in both MI and IN.
Requirements
- Participate in classroom, lab and hands-on shop training aligned with MacAllister’s technical and safety standards
- Learn foundational systems including hydraulics, engines and ignition, powertrain, fuel, and braking
- Complete written and practical assessments to determine knowledge and skill development
- Work alongside experienced technicians and mentors to reinforce classroom concepts
- Meet expectations for safety, quality, and attendance throughout the program
- Maintain tools and equipment, adhering to cleanliness and organization standards in the shop and lab spaces
- Attend career development classes focusing on communication, teamwork and long-term career planning
- Pass mechanical aptitude and reading comprehension assessments
- Reliable transportation to/from assigned branch to classroom learning location(s)
- Ability to work 1st or 2nd shift during the training period
