The School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math at Madison College is hiring a full-time Math instructor to teach 15 to 20 contact hours across the math department curriculum. Requirements
- Teach mathematics courses at the developmental level through the Calculus sequence and beyond.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop course curriculum that is culturally responsive and inclusive of all student identities and experiences.
- Use teaching strategies that are designed to engage students and promote success in mathematics.
- Continuously reflect on and refine teaching practices by engaging with student data to address and eliminate inequities in student experiences and outcomes.
- Contribute to the mathematics department by participating in department meetings, events, and service activities such as mentoring, assessment, and governance.
- Contribute to student success and retention by advising students with course selection, career concerns, internships, and other matters.
- Serve as an advocate for students and engages in activities that help students achieve their goals such as writing letters of recommendations, and/or helping students link with internships, service learning, job shadowing and other forms of networking.
