Job Description
MagTech is seeking a motivated Weld Repair Technician Helper to join our Southgate, MI team. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with a recent technical degree or 1–2 years of hands-on experience who are eager to develop advanced skills in weld repair, fabrication, and industrial maintenance.
Requirements
- Assist with weld repair and rework on metal components and assemblies
- Learn and perform basic welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick) as applicable
- Inspect welds and materials for defects, damage, or wear
- Prepare materials by cleaning, grinding, cutting, and fitting parts
- Follow blueprints, work instructions, and welding procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with safety regulations
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment properly
- Document work performed and report issues to supervisors
- Support senior weld technicians with repair and maintenance projects
