A Cook staff member serves on a team who work together to provide kitchen and dining hall needs to our many groups and campers. They assist in preparing, cooking and serving food as well as other duties as needed such as working in the dining hall, deep cleaning, and dishes.
Requirements
- Assist in the daily operations of the camp food service program.
- Store food and leftovers at proper temperature and proper storage locations.
- Set up food, supplies, and utensils for dining hall food distribution.
- Assist in routine cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen and other food services areas.
- Clean and maintain all food preparation and storage equipment.
- Prepare, serve, and store food according to camp standards and health code procedures.
- Help maintain cleanliness of food room, dish room, equipment, refrigerators, freezers, and food preparation areas.
- Assist in putting away orders when delivered.
- Reduce waste, reuse items, and recycle as practically as possible.
- Keep kitchen cupboards, walls, and countertops wiped clean and sanitize daily.
- Protect the health and safety of guests and staff
- Be well versed in a variety of recipes and be willing to meet the dietary needs of the guests whenever possible.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
- Maintain a standard of professionalism, cleanliness, and integrity to support co-workers and camp objectives.
- Represent the camp professionally, seeking to propel its mission and values during all work hours.
- Responsible for any other duties assigned by the Camp Director or his/her designate.
