Job Description
The Lead Caregiver supervises all staff and children on shift to ensure the needs of the department are met. The role requires at least five years of experience working with children and management, as well as effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Five years of successful experience working with children and management
- At least twenty-one years old
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Pass a DCYF criminal background check and a Salvation Army background check
- Be free from communicable diseases as indicated by a TB screening
- Be emotionally mature and stable in order to provide consistency, structure, and nurturing
- CPR/First Aid training
- Blood borne pathogen/HIV training
- De-escalation and restraint training
- Food Handlers permit
- Child Safety Training
- HIPAA Training
- Valid WA Driver License
- Motor Vehicle background check and driver training
- Attendance & participation in bi-weekly lead meetings
- Training Tracks – required readings & reports for one year
- Able to auditory and visual supervision of children
- Able to verbally and physically interact with the children in care
- High personal standards of cleanliness and thoroughness
