Senior Database Engineer

Man Group is a global alternative investment management firm seeking a Senior Database Engineer to join their team. The role involves administering and managing the Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and SQL Server database estate, as well as collaborating with other technology teams to identify and implement optimal solutions.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of Oracle or PostgreSQL RDBMS.
• Foundational knowledge of MongoDB or SQL Server.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation and configuration management tooling such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Proficiency in Linux.
• Strong scripting skills (preferably Bash, PL/SQL, Python, Powershell).
• Experience of designing, building, configuring Data-Guard, RMAN.
• Ability to diagnose and tune performance across the entire stack (Database internals, OS, Storage, Networks).
• Proven ability to automate builds and repetitive tasks.
• Flexibility to broaden and develop skills in any area as required.
• Strong prioritization and project management skills.
• Experience with Docker containerization.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Eagerness to learn and understand the business environment.
