Job Description
The New York County District Attorney's Office is seeking Reporter/Stenographers to work in the Grand Jury Stenographers Unit. This role involves transcribing verbatim testimony from grand jury proceedings, utilizing case technology, maintaining records, and testifying in court. Candidates must be proficient in stenography and demonstrate sensitivity in confidentiality. A year of experience in a related field is required, along with the Civil Service Exam passing.
Requirements
- Associate Occupational Science Degree in Court Reporting
- Proficiency in stenography (180-200 words/minute 5-minute recording).
- Experience using Case Catalyst software.
- High sensitivity and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Handling multiple assignments and meeting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
