Volunteer - Ward Companion - Dumfries & Galloway

Marie Curie is seeking volunteers to provide companionship and emotional support to individuals with advanced medical conditions. Volunteers will engage in activities like sharing stories, playing music, or simply being present, offering comfort, and potentially offering assistance to family members. Training and ongoing support are provided to all volunteers.

Requirements

• A good listener with a kind, open heart
• Non-judgemental and friendly
• Emotionally steady in sensitive moments
• Able to give around three to four hours a week
• Comfortable using email and completing a short visit report
• Eligibility to be 18+
• Completion of short online application
