Claims Examiner I

Claims Examiner I will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and settling assigned claims of average complexity and low to mid exposure claims. The primary purpose of this job is to provide a meaningful difference in the work we do at Markel, a Fortune 500 company with over 60 offices in 20+ countries.

Requirements

• Experience handling CA claims is required
• Experience handling AZ/CO/UT claims is a plus
• Must be able to obtain/maintain the required CA CEU hours to adjust CA claims
• A degree in business related courses is optional in exchange for experience in insurance
• An insurance designation is a plus
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Ability to deliver outstanding customer service
• Strong knowledge and understanding of medical terminology is a plus
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word)
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Strong desire for continuous improvement
• US Work Authorization
