Job Description
Incumbents conduct inspections and maintain the Divisionsâ inspection program for MassDOT and municipally owned bridges in accordance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS).
Requirements
- Acts as a Bridge Inspection Team Leader and performs all types of bridge inspections required by NBIS on all types of bridge structures.
- Prepares for assigned bridge inspections by obtaining and reviewing all available plans and inspection records for structures that are to be inspected.
- Maintains the safety of bridge inspection teams and the public by ensuring that proper safety equipment is available and that it is used correctly.
