Job Description
The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) is seeking an Environmental Engineer III (EE III) to join the Southeast Regional Office in Lakeville, MA. The EE III will review permits, enforce air quality regulations, and ensure that industries operate responsibly, directly protecting communities and mitigating the impacts of air pollution on both public health and the environment.
Requirements
- Reviewing Limited Plan Applications (LPA), Comprehensive Plan Applications (CPA) and Operating Permit (OP) Applications
- Drafting Plan Approvals and Operating Permits
- Investigating and resolving public complaints of air pollution
- Conducting site visits
- Performing single media air quality compliance inspections and preparing compliance reports and enforcement documents
- Directing and overseeing stack testing and other emission testing
- Reviewing facility-submitted compliance reports and recommending enforcement action
- Providing outreach and guidance to the regulated community and the public
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of air pollution control principles and practices
