Lead Data Engineer

Mastercard is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to drive the design, development, and optimization of scalable data solutions. In this role, you will serve as both a technical expert and a team leader—overseeing data pipeline architecture, ensuring data quality and reliability, and guiding engineers in best practices.

Requirements

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, reliable data pipelines and data processing frameworks
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and readiness
• Mentor and guide a team of data engineers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions
• Drive technical roadmap and architectural decisions
• Identify and implement improvements to ETL/ELT processes
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies
• Oversee complex data projects
• Act as a subject matter expert on data modeling, pipeline optimization, large-scale data processing, and best practices
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external data regulations
