Middle School English Language Arts Teacher (Grades 5-8)

Matchbook Learning is a non-profit charter management organization seeking a Middle School English Language Arts Teacher to join their team at Matchbook Learning at Wendell Phillips School 63 for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will deliver a comprehensive curriculum, create a positive classroom environment, and work collaboratively with staff to support student development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Elementary Education, or a related field
• State Standard teaching certification or equivalent out-of-state certificate
• Previous experience working with elementary or middle school students (strongly preferred)
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Ability to adapt lessons and teaching techniques to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Commitment to professional growth and development
• Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced, changing environment
